Markeise Smith
Get ready to cheer for Markeise Smith, who is back again as number one for this season! Markeise will be the point guard and will lead the team, bringing his wealth of experience to the game.
Hailing from Long Beach, California, Markeise started playing basketball at the age of 6, inspired by his grandfather's love for the game. He previously played for the Rancho Royals before making a stellar debut with the Bennington Martens last season.
Beyond the court, Markeise pursued his passion for fashion design, graduating from Victor Valley College. When he's not shooting hoops, he's creating amazing designs and dreaming of launching his own clothing line. So watch out for the Markeise Smith collection coming soon!

Anthony Mitchell
Welcome back, Anthony Mitchell! We are thrilled to see you again on the court donning the number 2 jersey for this upcoming season. Anthony is a proud native of the Bronx, New York, where he was born and raised. His passion for basketball ignited at a young age, and he has honed his skills since the tender age of six.
During his high school years, Anthony played for Salesian High School, where he played an instrumental role in securing the state B division championship. After high school, Anthony excelled in his basketball career at Sage College, where he proudly represented the team for four years. In 2020, he received the prestigious title of Men's Outstanding Athlete of the Year, a testament to his dedication and talent on the court. Anthony graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting, showcasing his commitment to his academic and athletic pursuits.
Beyond the basketball court, Anthony's interests extend to real estate, video games, and anime. It's also worth noting that he shares the court with his younger brother, making their partnership a family affair. Welcome back, Anthony! We can't wait to see you in action once again.
Tyler Mitchell
Meet Tyler Mitchell, an exceptional member of team number 3 with a remarkable story that began in the Bronx. His love for basketball ignited at four, inspired by his grandfather and brother. Throughout his formative years, he honed his skills and proudly represented All Hallows High School on the basketball court while making his mark as a talented track team member.
After high school, Tyler embarked on an academic and athletic journey at Russell Sage College, where he pursued a degree in applied biology while continuing to shine in track and field and basketball for four years. His unwavering commitment to education and healthcare led him to Maria College, where he is currently immersing himself in nursing, with aspirations of becoming a future Nurse Practitioner.
Tyler's dedication to sports and academia is truly inspiring, and we are thrilled to have him back on the team.
Devon Johnson
Prepare for an exciting season as Devon Johnson, the seasoned player, gears up for his second year with the Bennington Martens. He'll proudly donning jersey number 8 as the team's point guard. Fans eagerly anticipate Devon's return, knowing his exceptional leadership will elevate the team again.
Hailing from Albany, New York, Devon is the eldest of three and has recently become a proud father of two, including a newborn baby girl. Despite his basketball commitments, he remains deeply connected to his roots and family, balancing his passion for the game with his love for his loved ones.
Basketball has always been Devon's true calling. His journey began at Albany High School, continued at Johnson State College, and eventually took him to the N.U.B.A International in Mexico. A true dreamer, Devon has long harbored the ambition to play basketball overseas, and his unwavering determination has finally turned that dream into reality.
Beyond his remarkable skills on the court, Devon's infectious spirit and unwavering support for his teammates define his presence within the team. Off the court, he is committed to giving back to the community and actively engages in basketball clinics. Moreover, he dreams of establishing a community center, driven by his passion for basketball and community services.

Mark Sidbury
Welcome back to the team, Mark Sidbury, who will once again be wearing number 7. Mark is a talented basketball player who was born and raised in Albany, New York. His passion for basketball began in high school, where he discovered his love for the game. After high school, Mark continued his basketball journey by playing for both Schenectady Community College and Bryant and Stratton College. In addition to his impressive playing career, Mark also dedicates his time to running basketball camps for kids and providing training to young aspiring athletes. Mark's commitment to the sport and his efforts to mentor the next generation of players make him a valuable asset to the team. Welcome back, Mark!
Elijah Alston
Introducing Elijah Alston, the newest addition to the Bennington Martens team. Elijah is a talented individual who graduated from Albany High School and continued to pursue his passion for basketball by playing for Schenectady Country Community College. His incredible skills have been on display in various cities, from Las Vegas to Fort Lauderdale, and even Philadelphia. Additionally, Elijah had the opportunity to showcase his talent internationally in Zaragoza, Spain for a week. Elijah's ultimate aspiration is to play professional basketball.
Austin Jones
Get ready to meet the incredible Austin Jones, the rookie sensation who has just joined the Bennington Martens! With his outstanding skills, Austin will dominate the court as a shooting guard, small forward, and power forward. We are beyond excited to introduce this exceptional athlete to our fans!
Austin's journey to the Martens began at Heatly High School in Green Island, NY, where he graduated as a basketball star in 2015. As a key player on the varsity basketball team for five years, he proved his extraordinary talent by scoring over 1000 points. Continuing his basketball journey, Austin pursued his passion at Fulton Montgomery Community College, where he excelled on the court and studied liberal arts before transitioning to the workforce.
Austin is gearing up for another significant milestone off the court as he prepares to tie the knot with his fiancée, Samantha, in October. He is also a dedicated father to his 3-year-old son, Zayden, and cherishes every moment spent with his family. On top of all this, Austin also showcases his creativity by producing engaging content on his YouTube channel.

Charles Douglas

Not just stopping there, he's even skilled in martial arts. Charles may have started taking basketball seriously in his 20s, but his impact has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Charles is a rising star from Antigua who has taken the bustling Bronx, NY by storm. After graduating from Green Tech High School in 2017, he continued his studies at Schenectady Community College and earned a degree in psychology and sociology in 2020. But that's not all - Charles is also making a real impact in his community by working at the Boys and Girls Club in Lansingburgh, NY.
When he's not shining on the basketball court or inspiring those around him, Charles loves to escape into the great outdoors, immersing himself in nature during his leisure time. But there's more to him than just athleticism and altruism - he's also a big fan of anime, which he enjoys indulging in whenever he can.

Trevor Brink
Get ready for an electrifying new addition to the Bennington Martens basketball team! Trevor Brink, a rising star with unbelievable three-point shooting skills, is about to take the basketball world by storm as the team's new shooting guard.
Hailing from the lively town of Lyndonville, Vermont, Trevor's basketball journey began at ten and has been nothing short of extraordinary. After training at St. Johnsbury Academy and Vermont Academy, Trevor graduated in 2018 and made a lasting impact at Hartwick College. Not only did he excel in basketball, but he also emerged as a natural leader and eventually became the team captain in his senior year.
In addition to his college triumphs, Trevor earned a degree in business administration with a minor in finance, proving that he's not just a star on the court but also an academic powerhouse. He's making meaningful contributions at the New York State Office of State Comptroller, showcasing his versatility and strength on and off the court.
But that's not all. Trevor is also deeply committed to philanthropy, working tirelessly to uplift underserved communities and make a real impact, reflecting his fantastic character and genuine compassion.

Hamahdji Covington
Let's give a big, warm welcome to Hamahdji Covington, our exciting new team member! He'll wear the number 24 jersey this season. Hamahdji is a talented rookie from Albany, NY, and he's been passionate about basketball since his early school days. He's got some serious skills, having played varsity ball for Lansingburgh High School. After high school, he kept the ball rolling at Bryant and Stratton, where he played for a season.
What's cool about Hamahdji is his dedication to his craft. He's constantly pushing himself with rigorous training and even throws some boxing into the mix alongside his basketball practice. And when he's off the court, he's all about UFC and video games. We're pumped to have Hamahdji on our team and can't wait to see him in action! Welcome aboard, Hamahdji!
Heith Mason
Heith Mason is back and ready to rock the court! Prepare to welcome him with open arms as he proudly dons 45 again. He's been an unstoppable force since he joined the Bennington Martens during their Inaugural Season, 2020-21.
Hailing from a long line of farmers, Heith Mason is a 4th Generation farmer from Pawlet, VT. When he's not dazzling on the basketball court, he's working hard at Tractor Supply in Granville, NY, while residing in the family farmhouse with his parents and four sisters.
His love for basketball started at the tender age of five at Mettawee Community School, and he's been honing his skills ever since. From playing AAU basketball with the Castleton Spartans to showcasing his talent at Poultney High School, Heith has left an indelible mark on the court.
Let's not forget his standout moments in high school basketball, from the intense battles at Barre Auditorium to being crowned the WSYB Player of the Game. He's a true standout, and his dedication to the sport has not gone unnoticed.

Lavon Long
Please help us welcome Lavon Long to the Bennington Martens for his ABA rookie season. He will rock the number 33 jersey and be ready to dominate the center position this season. With incredible versatility and a strong track record across all positions, Lavon is pumped to take on this exciting new challenge.
His journey in basketball is nothing short of impressive. Starting at 3, Lavon developed his skills early on, inspired by his mother's remarkable basketball career at a D1 college and internationally. A proud Siena College alum, Lavon showcased his talent while playing for the White Wings in Germany.
But there's more to Lavon than basketball. Off the court, his competitive spirit knows no bounds, whether he's playing a board game or a video game or engaging in a spirited debate. His love for competition is at the core of who he is, and his drive to excel extends to every aspect of his life.

Jahmr Jordan
Get ready to experience the electrifying debut of our sensational rookie, Jahmr Jordan! He's ready to dazzle the crowd this season as our dynamic new number 5-point guard. Jahmr's remarkable skills will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Originally from Albany, NY, Jahmr's passion for basketball was ignited at 7, inspired by his brother's impressive basketball endeavors. He's honed his talent at three colleges, leaving a trail of dominance on the court at each one. In addition to basketball, Jahmr studied graphic design in college.
Jahmr unleashes his artistic talent and shares his gaming exploits on YouTube when he's not tearing up the court. But there's more—Jahmr also dedicates his spare time to mentoring and training young athletes. His passion for helping others knows no bounds.

Dashawn Westbrook
Get excited for the significant return of Dashawn Westbrook to the Bennington Martens this season! Hailing from Rockland County, NY, Dashawn is set to light up the court as a shooting guard and a small forward, proudly sporting the number 9 jersey. His comeback has everyone on the edge of their seats, and we're itching to witness his dynamic and multi-talented presence in the upcoming games.
Dashawn's path has been marked with obstacles, yet basketball has consistently provided him with stability and comfort. Initially introduced to the sport by his devoted mother, basketball has evolved into far more than just a hobby for Dashawn—it has become a source of purpose, guidance, and resilience. Through unwavering commitment and sheer determination, Dashawn has honed his basketball abilities and discovered a strength that transcends the court. The sport has imparted invaluable lessons in perseverance, teamwork, and determination, shaping him into the remarkable individual he is today. Dashawn has experienced hardship and faced doubt, but these challenges have only fueled his determination to realize his aspirations, for himself and for all those who have supported him on his journey.
After graduating from Schenectady High School in 2017, Dashawn pursued his passion for basketball, taking a break to sharpen his skills. He briefly attended the College of St Joseph in VT before returning to Schenectady. Impressively, he even got the chance to showcase his basketball prowess in Tijuana, Mexico.

Jevon Taylor
The Bennington Martens are thrilled to announce the signing of a talented new player, Jevon Taylor, who will join the team for the upcoming season. Jevon will proudly wear the number 33 jersey as a promising small forward, representing his new team and bringing his skills to the court.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jevon has made a name for himself on the basketball scene, first captivating audiences at Nathan Hill High School. His exceptional talent was evident throughout high school, culminating in remarkable performances that earned him a scholarship to Waldorf University. During his time at Waldorf, Jevon exhibited tremendous growth and dedication to the game, achieving the impressive honor of being named the most-improved player for an incredible four consecutive years. This accolade spanned from his junior year in high school to his sophomore year in college, demonstrating his relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to developing his skills.
As this season marks Jevon’s highly anticipated debut in the American Basketball Association (ABA), fans and teammates alike are eager to see how his talents will translate professionally. Jevon’s journey is just beginning, and his rookie season is poised to be an exciting chapter filled with potential and promise.

Traevon Kirby Sherald
Introducing the incredible Traveon Kirby-Sherald, the exciting new Bennington Martens basketball team rookie. Traevon's love for basketball started at age 8, and his sheer dedication and hard work have rightfully earned him a coveted spot on the team. When he's not owning the court, Traevon is striving towards a degree in psychotherapy at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, displaying his unwavering commitment to personal and academic development. Besides his academic pursuits, Traevon is deeply involved in giving back to the Troy community through his work at Unity House. During his downtime, you can find him wholly lost in the captivating world of anime and unwinding with some epic video games. Welcome to the team, Traveon!
Chayton Sagendorf
Meet Bennington Martens's newest member, Chayton Sagendorf, a basketball prodigy whose love for the game ignited at 8. Hailing from the picturesque village of Green Island, he's on a quest to shine a positive light on his community. As a proud representative of his small town, he aims to inspire young talents to reach for the stars, proving that from humble beginnings, greatness can emerge.
Chayton's basketball journey started with CYO basketball, where he fine-tuned his skills from 3rd to 9th grade. Taking his game to the next level, he thrived in AAU for two years, proudly representing Darwin Carr's forty-one team during his 11th and 12th grade in Lansingburgh.
Guided by the values instilled by his hardworking parents, Chayton brings his A-game every time he hits the court, constantly pushing himself to surpass his previous performances. Basketball isn't just a passion for him; it's a trusted companion, offering an escape from the pressures of the outside world. Dribbling the ball brings him joy and hones his skills, making it a source of fun and growth. With unwavering support from his loving parents, girlfriend, and grandfather, Chayton is ready to take on the upcoming season with the Martens.
As the new season approaches, Chayton eagerly anticipates the chance to grow alongside a remarkable group of teammates who share the common goal of victory and pursuing their collective dreams. Excitement fills the air as they gear up for this new season under the mentorship of Coach Pratt and Mama G, who are leading them toward success.
