Meet Shawn Pratt, the dynamic co-owner, general manager, and CEO of our incredible Martens Team. Shawn's deep love for basketball traces back to his roots in Brooklyn, NY, where he honed his skills on the vibrant playgrounds of the city. His journey in basketball began at Abraham Lincoln High School, where he discovered his unwavering passion for the game. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Shawn found success at Fulton Montgomery Community College and later at Southern Vermont College, where he demonstrated outstanding performance on and off the court.

Shawn ventured into coaching after his impressive college career, leaving a lasting impact at Southern Vermont College and within the community. His commitment to youth leadership, social justice, and educational equity shines through in his work as an AAU coach for Team Albany and the Celtics program.

In 2021, Shawn took a significant step by co-founding the Bennington Martens and expanding his basketball influence further by establishing the Coney Island Thunder. Beyond the court, Shawn's dedication to the community is evident through his active involvement in the Vermont State Criminal Justice Council.

As he prepares to take on the ABA summer league president role, Shawn is poised to continue making significant contributions to the basketball world. The organization is incredibly fortunate to have Shawn, a leader in the game and a driving force for good within the community.

Get ready to meet Regina Mason, the powerhouse leading the Bennington Martens for the 2024-25 season!

Regina, better known as Mama G, has been an integral part of the Bennington Martens since 2021. She has mastered multiple roles, such as managing the team's finances, nurturing player development, and even serving as the assistant coach last year. And now, she's not just leading the team as the head coach but also a co-owner—talk about a true trailblazer!

Regina's coaching journey kicked off in 2000, and she's worked her magic at every level, from elementary and middle schools to boys' varsity and even as an assistant coach at the college level. With her wealth of experience, we are beyond thrilled to have her on the team. Her caring nature and unwavering dedication will steer the Bennington Martens toward incredible success this season.

But it doesn't end there - it's a whole family affair for Regina! Her son, Keith Mason, has been a critical player for the Bennington Martens for four years, and her marriage to Todd Mason hits the 35-year mark. Together, they opened their hearts and homes as foster parents for 25 years before welcoming their fifth child. Leanna Mason, Heith Mason, Emily McFadden, Jasmine McFadden, and Taylor Choppy are not just a family; they're cherished members of our Martens family. The contribution of the Mason family is truly priceless, and we're incredibly grateful for all they do for the Martens.

Assistant coach Jarrett Miller is the newest addition to the Bennington Martens coaching staff. We are incredibly fortunate to have secured his services.

Coaching is more than just a profession for Jarrett - it's a calling that runs in his family. Inspired by his father, Jarrett has harbored aspirations of coaching since he was young. With a strong foundation in healthcare, Jarrett has always been driven by a desire to help others. His commitment to serving his community and improving the lives of others is unwavering.

Jarrett's personal life centers around his family. As a devoted husband and father of three, his world revolves around his children, motivating him to excel in all areas of his life.

Jarrett was born and raised in the bustling borough of Brooklyn, New York, where an unwavering passion for sports characterized his formative years. From a young age, he found himself drawn to the energetic atmosphere of the city's playgrounds, where he honed his basketball skills and discovered a deep-seated love for athletic pursuits. As he navigated through his youth, Jarrett dedicated himself to a variety of sports, immersing himself in the worlds of football and track. However, it was the exhilarating and fast-paced nature of basketball that truly ignited his spirit, leaving an indelible impression on his life's journey.

The Martens are thrilled to welcome Jarrett to the team this year. With him joining forces with Regina, we are confident that the Martens will be an unstoppable force in the upcoming season.

Check out our newest team member, Leanna Mason, who will lead our game-day productions! Leanna's been an integral part of the Martens family and has even completed a two-year internship with us. She's behind amazing Martens photos; we can't imagine our team without her. We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome her on board.

Fun fact: Leanna dominated the basketball court for 13 years during her school days, followed by two years playing college ball and another five years with AAU. Her extensive experience and knowledge of the game make her a knowledgeable addition to our team.

Leanna holds a degree in sports management from Castleton University, and we're so grateful for everything she does for the Martens. Welcome to the family, Leanna. We're beyond excited to have you with us!

Let's give a big round of applause to the newest member of the Martens family—Alyssa Miller! She's all set to take charge as the athletic trainer and head of social media for the 2024/25 season.

Prepare to be inspired! Alyssa is a nursing superstar with an unwavering passion for sports medicine and cardiac surgery. Her goal is crystal clear: to become an athletic trainer for the NBA, and she's currently laser-focused on obtaining a nurse practitioner specialization in sports medicine. Alyssa has carved out an impressive career, gaining experience in various departments and taking on travel nursing at St. Peter's in Albany, NY.

In addition to her outstanding career, she's happily married and a loving step-parent to three wonderful kids. Alyssa is now joining Bennington Martens, and we can't wait to witness the incredible impact she'll make with us! Welcome, Alyssa!
